Farnborough 2014
ISQ participated in another event related to the Aerospace and Defence sector for the fifth year running, along with other national companies in the sector. The Portugal Pavilion which this year was organised by PEMAS (Portuguese Aerospace Industry Association) and DANOTEC (Association of Defence Industries, Weaponry and New Technologies) was composed of 14 national institutions which had the opportunity to promote their products and services to this community. Also attending the event were Embraer, OGMA and Tekever, the latter having presented its latest UAV – unmanned aerial vehicle – developed (AR5 Life Ray Evolution) for maritime surveillance. The inauguration of the Portugal Pavilion was attended by the Minister of Defence, Dr. José Pedro Aguiar Branco, the Secretary of State for Innovation, Investment and Competitiveness, Dr. Pedro Gonçalves, by the General Manager of DGAEID, Major-General Manuel Gravilha Chambel and Portugal’s Ambassador to the United Kingdom, Dr. João de Vallera. The visit certainly gave the national aerospace cluster a prominent role, where the companies attending were able to present and give an insight of their competencies to the government representatives. ISQ presented the Group’s skills and expertise for the sector as well as the activities that it has been developing in the Space and Aeronautics industry, in particular with partners such as Embraer, TAP, Thales-Alenia Space, Herakles, among others. ISQ’s exhibit space was also visited by the recently appointed Chairman of OGMA, Rodrigo Rosa, where the long-standing history of collaboration between the two entities and more recently with EMBRAER Portugal, was presentedl.
