Spain – ISQ Group inspects substation for wind farm
ISQ in Spain carried out the inspection by non-destructive examination, in the manufacturing phase, of the substation of Westermost Rough, the offshore wind farm in the North Sea of the United Kingdom. The substation was manufactured in the STX shipyards in Saint-Nazaire, France, and its assembly has now been successfully concluded. The wind farm occupies an area of 35 km2 with a total capacity of 210 MW. Thirty five 6 MW Siemens turbines will be installed and it is the first farm to install these new generation turbines. The farm, which is owned by Dong Energy and UK Green Investment Bank, should go into production from 2015.
