Postgraduate Course in Renewable Energy – a differentiating offer
Last June, the ISQ Group began its first Postgraduate Course in Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency. With this course, E3 (Executive Expertise for engineers) aims to show the current problems associated with energy resources and future prospects as well as the importance of using renewable energy, seeking the practical application of the concept of sustainable development. Despite the social and economical aspects and rationalisation of the use of resources, in this course we talk about all kinds of Renewable Energies, from those still in their infancy to the most common, whose technologies are presently at a more developed stage and complement it with various study visits. This, indeed, is E3 and ISQ’s major differentiating factor. In this course, the trainees visited the Alqueva Hydro Power Plant, a solar power plant in operation (with the support of our partner EuroSolar), learned all about the Wind Farm in Almargem do Bispo in Sintra and an industrial unit for production of biofuels – Iberol. The assessments of the trainees were excellent, giving us the strength and encouragement to further distinguish ISQ by its training. A second course is scheduled for June 2014. Contact Sofia Ferreira
