This initiative has a particular focus on the following areas: Improving the efficiency of water use by the agricultural sector; Improving energy efficiency in the agricultural sector and the food industry; Improvement of the efficiency of the use of by-products, promoting the forest valorization of livestock effluents (circular economy); Facilitating the supply and use of renewable energy sources, by-products, waste and waste and other non-food raw materials to promote the bioeconomy. The main results to be achieved during the project include: Creation and development of knowledge for the dairy sector in the field of efficient use of resources; Typification of good practices for the use of effluents from dairy boviniculture in the forest; Creation of a tool to support and create benchmarks, which allows a diagnosis of the current situation of the installation in relation to the themes of the project and comparison of its performance with other facilities; Capitalization of information from other projects and transfer good practices to the milk sector and forestry sector; creation of a dossier of good reference practices for the efficient use of resources and promotion of the bioeconomy of dairy farms and the forestry sector; Awareness raising of milk producers and cooperatives demonstrating the benefits of bioeconomy and efficient resource use. The consortium is led by the National Confederation of Agricultural Cooperatives and Agricultural Credit of Portugal CCRL (CONFAGRI) and has the partnership of ISQ; University of Trás-os-Montes and Alto Douro; AGROS- Union of Cooperatives of Between Douro and Minho and Trás-os-Montes, UCRL; LACTICOOP-Union of Cooperatives of Milk Producers of Between Douro and Mondego UCRL and PROLEITE-Cooperativa Agrícola de Produtores de Leite, CRL.
