Goals: The AmICCI project aims to develop new skills as well as consolidate others already underway at ISQ, through the development of R&DT projects of national strategic interest for the next two years, particularly aligned with the Smart Specialization Strategy defined for Portugal for the period 2014-2020. The AmICCI project is based on a plan of participation in the different Pillars and programs of the H2020 according to a strategy of internal research and specific technological development, promoting new lines of research of national interest, consolidating skills already acquired as well as scientifically designing the works developed through publications and participation in specific events. In this sense, the whole plan was developed in order to give a concrete response to the established in the current Isq R&D strategy, which is aligned with the Smart Specialization Strategy. The ISQ Strategic Plan establishes five priority areas of research:

1) Development of customized structural tests and advanced non-destructive techniques (NDT) and non-intrusive for industrial monitoring (sensorization and intelligent communication);

2) Evaluation of new materials, production and inspection methods;

3) Industrial sustainability and circular economy;

4) environmental and safety risk management and;

5) Evaluation and management of energy efficiency in buildings, industries and regions.

These priority areas include energy, transport including aeronautics, process and product industry, and urban development, including smart and sustainable cities. Overall, ISQ hopes to acquire with this participation the intellectual and scientific enrichment of its researchers and technicians, thus improving the technical and scientific standards of its team in the areas established as priorities in isq's current R&D strategy. At the same time, ISQ hopes to actively contribute to increasing productivity and national competitiveness through the development of research projects of industrial interest, developed in close collaboration with companies, universities and other national and international research organizations. Thus, the selection of the programmes to which the ISQ intends to apply was made to respond concretely to these objectives. The priority areas identified in the objectives support the next two-year H202O programme participation plan, which is a total of 49 applications to the H2020 programme for the period 2016-2017, corresponding to an ISQ investment of EUR 15.3 million.
