ISQ organizes Summer School on Sustainability in the Industrial Sector
ON May 9, ISQ organizes the first Summer School in the field of Industrial Sustainability, with the presence and participation of its partners, the Universities of Cambridge (United Kingdom) and Chalmers (Sweden). The event takes place under the TRUST-Twinning for industrial Sustainability project, developed in a strategic partnership between ISQ and the two European reference entities at the level of education. As a center of technological interface, ISQ has always excelled in the connection to academia, by the synergies that come from the level of knowledge and innovation, being this project a reflection of these premises. The event, which takes place on the ISQ campus, Tagus Park, Oeiras, aims to contribute to excellence in research, specifically in the area of industrial sustainability, increasing scientific and technical capacity. The aim is to support European industry in achieving the UN Sustainable Development Goals for the 2030 Agenda through "lasting cooperation for the development of research of excellence at the service of European industry, which will contribute to a more balanced development of scientific performance in the European Union, in line with the Commission's strategy for creating ladders to excellence ", says Pedro Matias, President of ISQ. During the Summer School, ISQ has the testimony of its partners, who leave their contribution by launching the debate on topics such as the challenge of industrial sustainability of the future and good practices used at European level, resource and energy efficiency, the circular economy, production planning, risk and value management and new more sustainable business models.
