Dedicated laboratory for SARS-COV2 tests with results in 24 hours

The Labiagro Molecular Biology Laboratory, an ISQ group company, has been working on the detection and quantification of SARS-CoV-2 in wastewater, air and surfaces. It was able to create an alert system that can communicate with stakeholder entities which, after verifying an increase in the amount of virus in a community, are able to take action to prevent a new wave.

Lab SARS-COV2 – Molecular Chemistry Laboratory for SARS-COV2 1

The virus is detected using molecular biology techniques and it is not only possible to detect the presence of this agent, but also to quantify its presence. Given the possibilities offered by this methodology, it is possible to create an alert system that can communicate with stakeholder entities which, after verifying an increase in the amount of virus in a community, are able to take action to prevent a new wave of the virus.

In addition to these two detection and quantification possibilities, it is possible to identify the virus variants circulating in a given community.

The Labiagro Molecular Biology Laboratory has been working on the detection and quantification of SARS-CoV-2 in wastewater, and has conducted research into this virus in other equally important media, such as in air samples or on surfaces.

With its new molecular biology laboratory, Labiagro offers integrated solutions and is able to provide services to the competent authorities and to health and industry entities from different sectors of activity (agrifood and other sectors).

The laboratory has a wide range of technological equipment capable of detecting the etiological agent SARS-CoV-2 by molecular biology techniques – PCR – with results within 24 hours if requested
