Medical cannabis Europe’22

The medical cannabis industry has seen exponential growth in recent years with the legalization of the sale of these products in several European countries. The growth in demand and the associated margins have led several investors to bet on the medical cannabis market. According to several analysts, this market has the potential to reach 3.2 billion euros by 2025.

In this context, the medical cannabis industry, as well as all stakeholders involved, face as main challenge the interpretation and compliance with EU-GACP and EU-GMP regulations, in order to be able to put on the market, products based on the cannabis plant for medicinal purposes that demonstrate consistency, quality, efficacy and that are safe for the patient.

These are the necessary conditions for the trust of authorities and patients in the medical cannabis industry, which will contribute to its development in Portugal.
