There are many community masks, but not all of them provide the same protection. Only masks that follow the process established in CWA 17553:2020 Community face coverings give quality guarantees. ISQ carries out the necessary evaluation tests and supports the preparation of the product dossier and the CWA certification process.
FACT
On the 17th of June, a guide CWA 17553:2020 Community face coverings was published on the website of CENELEC (European Committee for Electrotechnical Standardization) .
This document specifies the minimum requirements at European level for social, reusable or disposable masks, namely:

Following this new guideline, Portugal published DNP TS 4575:2020 Masks for social use – Requirements for certification.
This document is an important tool for manufacturers who want to certify their product – masks for social use – based on the requirements of CWA 17553, using accredited entities . The issuance of a certificate of conformity assessment by a third party will give the manufacturer the possibility to use a national brand, which will give more credibility, confidence and security to those who buy and also in placing the product on the national market and in the export markets.
