We define “Quality Engineering” as a branch of engineering that deals with the principles and practices of quality assurance and control of both products and services. Although, individually, a Quality Engineer might not be linked to all the aspects listed below, his/her field of knowledge and the applied terminology includes, but is not limited to: Development and implementation of quality systems Application of methods and statistics for the analysis of quality parameters with the aim to improve quality and reduce costs Development and analysis of testing, sampling and inspection procedures Understanding the influence of human factors on motivation for quality Familiarity with the concepts and techniques of quality costs Knowledge and ability to develop and administer management information, including audits and quality improvement programs for a better identification and correction of deficiencies Knowledge and ability to develop and participate in project, process and service analyses Ability to develop appropriate analyse to determine operations requiring corrective actions Perform quality audits Target group Graduates, preferably with training in technical areas, particularly engineering and working in the area of quality in industrial companies or service companies.
