The Sustainability Forum is held in Lisbon on March 18 at the Portuguese Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCIP), with the presence of the Irish Minister of Agriculture and Navy, Michael Creed. Business opportunities will be under discussion in the Smart Cities areas with the emergence of 5G and Innovation and Renewable Energy networks, two central themes where Ireland and Portugal share a common strategic vision. It is intended to facilitate collaboration and implement partnerships between Portugal and Ireland in these areas in order to achieve practical results in the implementation of sustainable projects. Ireland's ecological identity and the appointment of Lisbon as the Green Capital of Europe 2020 are the motto justifying the theme of "sustainability" for this debate. It should be noted that the European Commission's "Green Capital" award pays tribute to European cities where innovative urban environmental management and initiatives have been implemented. Lisbon's appointment to this title demonstrates how the Portuguese capital is leading the way to setting higher standards in sustainable urban development, listening to what citizens want and advancing innovative solutions to environmental challenges.
